Fort Myers, Florida News Highlights

A Southwest Airlines Boeing 737-700 sustained damage to its fuselage and landing gear after striking debris on the Southwest Florida International Airport runway. The incident occurred during a landing on January 17, but the aircraft resumed service after six hours of inspection and repairs.

This weekend, a nighttime fire severely damaged a home on Meadowbrook Court in the Lake Fairways community of North Fort Myers. Firefighters responded quickly, but the extent of the damage is still being assessed.

Robert Conidaris, the founder of the iconic Lani Kai Island Resort on Fort Myers Beach, passed away peacefully at the age of 93. Known for his contributions to local tourism, Conidaris leaves behind a legacy cherished by many in the community.
